Creation of a standard labelled road network (SLRN)
Project designed to complete the build of a standard labelled road network (SLRN) database for the entire province of Ontario. The project will create an accurate fully attributed provincial roads database that completely covers Ontario related to the Canadian Spatial Reference System, 98. A maintenance mechanism will be established to ensure that this database is maintained on an ongoing basis. Access to an accurate attributed provincial roads database will directly benefit many sectors of society. It will not only support obvious applications such as emergency response and navigation, but will also support other activities such as marketing, school bus routing, land use planning value added activities by the private sector.
