GeoConnections' Geomatics Skills Network Enables Students to Participate at Geomatics 2002

The Geomatics Skills Network, a GeoConnections program, would like to thank everyone who submitted an application for sponsorship to the Geomatics 2002 symposium to be held in Montreal, Quebec, October 30-31, 2002.

The response was overwhelming. It was very difficult to select the finalists, as the quality of all the applications was very good. The successful candidates are:

Garfield Giff, University of New Brunswick
Stephen Howell, University of Calgary
Michael Hurwitz, University of British Columbia
Joan Pereverzoff, University of Calgary
Orlando Rodríguez-Pabón, Université Laval
Ryan Seaward, Memorial University
Landra Trevis, University of Calgary
Jeffrey Yuen, University of Calgary

The Geomatics Skills Network sponsorship covers conference registration (symposium, exhibits and Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure Seminar) and travel costs, as well as the cost of accommodation and meals for students residing outside the Montreal area.

Contact information will be kept on file to inform all applicants of any future sponsorship opportunities. In addition, future sponsorship opportunities will be posted on the GeoConnections web site (www.geoconnections.org) under "What's New". If you have any questions/comments, please address them to Annie Laponsée at the coordinates below:
