GeoSkills Program Enables Students to Participate at GeoTec 2003

The GeoSkills program, part of the GeoConnections initiative, would like to thank everyone who submitted an application for sponsorship to attend the GeoTec 2003 Conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, March 16-19, 2003.

As always, it was very difficult to select the finalists because the quality of all the applications was very good. The successful candidates are:

Anna Goldberg, Trent University
Christine Delbridge, University of New Brunswick
Fiona Atkins, Queen's University
Greg Tooth, University of Calgary
Rami Rabia, University of Toronto
Ryan Audette, University of Calgary

The GeoSkills sponsorship covers conference registration (seminars and exhibits), travel, accommodation, and meals for students residing outside the Vancouver area.

Contact information will be kept on file to inform all applicants of future sponsorship opportunities, which will also be posted on the GeoConnections Web site under "Private and public-sector opportunities."
