GeoNOVA Warehouse offers best available datasets

Under this project, the GeoNOVA program is working with GeoConnections to build the GeoNOVA Warehouse (GW)-a collection of the best available geospatial datasets for all of Nova Scotia.

The objective of this project is to provide a single approach to the creation, maintenance and distribution of geographic information in Nova Scotia by developing an open and flexible Geographic Markup Language (GML) data model, based on the architecture and endorsed standards of the Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure. (GML enables geographic databases to stay in synch with one another, the key to data sharing.) This will allow the GW to be integrated with other GeoNOVA Portal projects such as the Nova Scotia Civic Address Service, the GeoNOVA Portal Connectivity service, and the Nova Scotia Co-ordinate Transformation.
